July Worktop Inspiration

July brought another varied selection of projects for the Impala Stone team, from bold black quartz and statement kitchen worktops to bespoke stone details created for an interior design studio.

Here are a few of our favourite recent installations.

Technistone Starlight Black kitchen island

One of July’s standout installations featured Technistone Starlight Black quartz, used to create a striking kitchen island with mitred end panels.

Starlight Black is a polished black quartz with mirror chips running through the surface, giving it a subtle reflective finish. In this kitchen, carrying the quartz down the sides of the island creates a more substantial, seamless appearance and allows the material to become a real focal point within the room.

It is a great example of how a darker worktop can add contrast and character to a contemporary kitchen without relying on a heavily patterned stone.

BQuartz Veridian kitchen worktops

Our installation team also completed a kitchen using BQuartz Veridian worktops. The surface combines a distinctive green base with white and gold veining, bringing plenty of colour and detail to the finished space.

Rather than treating the worktop as a neutral background, Veridian makes it part of the overall kitchen design. Its deeper colouring creates contrast against the surrounding units, while the lighter veining helps break up the surface and bring movement across the worktops.

For anyone looking beyond traditional white, grey or marble-effect quartz, this project shows how a stronger worktop colour can give a kitchen its own identity.

Bespoke Arabescato Corchia studio surfaces

Later in the month, we completed a bespoke project for ND Interior Design using BQuartz Arabescato Corchia.

For the studio, our team manufactured an architrave, a worktop with an integrated sink area and matching shelving, using the same material throughout.

Arabescato Corchia is a marble-inspired quartz with strong veining, making it particularly effective when it is used for more than just a traditional worktop. Continuing the material onto shelving and architectural details creates consistency across the space and turns practical surfaces into part of the interior design.

It is also a good example of the bespoke fabrication possible with quartz, particularly for projects that need surfaces made specifically around an interior concept.

Dekton Trilium with dark blue cabinetry

To finish the month, we fitted a kitchen work surface in Dekton Trilium, paired with dark blue kitchen units.

Trilium has an industrial-inspired appearance, mixing deep grey and black tones with warmer, rust-like details. Against the blue cabinetry, those different tones give the kitchen plenty of depth while still keeping the overall finish understated.

The material is also made using up to 80% recycled material, making it an interesting option for homeowners who want a distinctive surface while considering the materials used within their project.

It is a very different look from the lighter quartz surfaces we often install and shows just how much the choice of worktop can influence the character of a kitchen.
